Even grownups need help sometimes. Are you struggling with anxiety or depression? Maybe you’re experiencing a sense of loss or hopelessness. You’re certainly not alone, and psychotherapy can help. Many people suffer in silence, but you’re here because you want something more for yourself. Right now, our world has been turned upside down by the current Covid-19 crisis, and many people feel a sense of uncertainty and a loss of control. Having someone to talk to can help. I am based in Spruce Grove and serve the Edmonton area for in person sessions, but online therapy sessions are available from anywhere across Canada. Call or book online today – I’m ready to listen.

EMDR EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing or EMDR is a well-researched psychotherapy technique that can help you heal from trauma, cope with anxiety or depression, treat substance use or other addictions, and change the beliefs you have about yourself. We can work together to heal your traumatic wounds or alter your personal beliefs about yourself without reliving events in detail. EMDR uses eye movements or other bilateral stimulation to help your brain engage in its natural healing process. EMDR is a very effective way to address many mental health concerns and I’d love to tell you more about it. You can also go here or call me to learn more about this powerful therapy method.

Caregivers Caregivers

Raising a child with a disability or a medical condition is one of life’s greatest and most unique challenges. I know – I have a child with a disability myself. If you love someone on the autism spectrum, with other unique needs, or you are the caregiver of a loved one who relies on you, I can offer support. While you are caring for another, it helps to have someone to lean on yourself. Often the ones who offer support are the last to seek help themselves, but counselling can provide a much needed respite from the daily task of caring for someone else. You’re not alone, and I understand what it is like to put yourself last for too long. I’d love to talk with you and help you learn to balance caregiving and self-care.

Anxiety Anxiety

Anxiety and depression are among the most common reasons people seek therapy. I work with my clients on learning to accept and ease their symptoms through self-compassion, mindfulness, and the challenging of long held beliefs. If you suffer with anxiety and you’re tired of the racing thoughts and a pounding heart, you’re not alone. Depression often follows anxiety, so if you’re feeling blue, down, or sad, psychotherapy can offer some relief. Having a safe place to talk and explore what you’re experiencing can help you tap into the resources within you that can heal your pain and ease your suffering. Asking for help is hard, but I’m here if you want to take that step.

Teens Teens

When I worked as a high school teacher, my favourite part of the job was connecting with my students. The teen years are among the most challenging period of life for many people, and often teens need a safe place to share their experience. Whatever it is that you’re facing, from problems with friends, to school challenges, to trouble at home, and everything in between, I can offer you a confidential place to begin to heal. If you’re here, then it’s probably because you’re thinking about reaching out for help. I know what it’s like to hurt, and I’d like to support you if I can. You’re not alone and I’m here to listen if you want to talk. During the current global pandemic, I’m offering online sessions, so we can connect from wherever you are.
